2/12/09 Game Results

Here's the results of Thursday's games...

The boys basketball team brought their season record to 6-2 with a win over Cumberland Christian Thursday. It was a team effort as all twelve players scored in the game for the second time this season. Bobby Stubbs led the scoring with 13, Joey Gorka scored 11, Demetrius Hogue scored 10 and Jason Murray scored 8. Final score 60-20. Great team work boys!

The girls team played a fantastic game which turned out to be a 4th quarter "nail bitter" for the second straight game, with the lead changing several times in the final minutes of the game. Grace Delonis hit the game tying basket with only seconds remaining, but the shot was called back due to a reach in foul charged to Cumberland right before the shot. The Eagles fell short losing to Cumberland 32-30. Missy Civile led the scoring with 12 points and Grace Delonis scored 9. The two teams face off again at Cumberland this week.

Congratulations to Jon Gorka for scoring 6 points in the JV boys game with Our Lady of Hope. The JV boys are still learning but have been working hard and are showing improvement with every game, evidenced by the fact that seven different players scored in the loss. Final score 35-22.
